LIGNIN PURIFICATION WITH GREEN SOLVENTS
In this work, lignin obtained from Malus domestica by alkaline (NaOH 7.5%, 90 min 90 ℃) and organosolv (60% ethanol, 90min 180℃) processes were treated with different purification techniques using green solvents to reduce their impurities. The green solvents used were water and BMIMeSO4 and the obtained lignin was characterized by different techniques (FTIR, TGA, HPLC...). The results show that soda lignin has more impurities than organosolv lignin, and that ionic liquid (IL) is the best method to purify them.
