THE INFLUENCE OF PREHYDROLYSIS PROCESS ON PULP WHEN PRODUCING DISSOLVING PULP
Prehydrolysis and non-prehydrolysis processes of kraft pulp and two-stage oxygen alkali Cooking were compared under the same cooking conditions. It was showed that prehydrolysis is benefit for the remove of pentosan, but will affect the properties of pulp. This will result in the more chemicals being used in the consequent cooking process for equal or better pulp properties. Scanning electron microscopy study showed that the fibres are likely to be enwraped by lignin after cooking process. The glass transition could be the possible reason which leads to lignin changed and different to remove in the following cooking process.
dissolving pulp prehydrolysis pentosan glass transition temperature
