DIAMETER CONTROLLING OF ELECTROSPUN LIGNIN NANOFIBERS: EFFECT OF MOLECULAR WEIGHT
Three types of lignin nanofibers were prepared using different molecular weight of lignin from lignin/acetic acid solution by electrospinning.Effects of solution concentration,molecular weight of lignin,and addition of polymer on the morphology and diameter of nanofibers were systematically investigated by scanning electron microscope (SEM).The morphology of nanofibers changed with the changing of solution concentration and polymer molecular weight.Fibrous structure could be stabilized when the solution concentrations of high molecular weight (LH),medium molecular weight (LM) and low molecular weight (LL) were higher than 30 wt.%,35 wt.% and 40 wt.%,respectively.Fiber diameter increased with the increase of solution concentration and lignin molecular weight.The addition of polymer,e.g.cellulose acetate (CA),resulted in the reduction of beads.
