AROMATIC MICROCAPSULES:PREPARATION AND APPLICATION IN SPECIALTY PAPER
Aromatic microcapsules, which were composed of limonene flavor as core material, and chitosan and gelatin as shell, were prepared by the method of complex coacervation. The aromatic microcapsules were characterized by biological microscope, laser diffraction particle size analyzer (LS),and fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT IR).The optimal conditions of forming aromatic microcapsules were obtained. When m (gelatin): m(chitosan) = 4:1,the average particle size was 51 μm.Several aromatic microcapsules agents were used in specialty paper by addition in pulp. The optimum proportion of microcapsules application for the paper performance was determined to be 2%.The tensile index of the resulted base paper was 52.75 N·m/g.Their morphology and size can be determined by scanning electron microscopy (SEM),so the best method of handmade felt was selected.
