STUDY ON THE KINETICS OF FENTON OXIDATION FOR TREATMENT OF PULPING MIDCOURSE EFFLUENT
In this paper, the kinetics of Fenton oxidation for pulping midcourse effluent treatment is studied. An equation for calculating the four unknown parameters involved in the kinetics in the experiment is established. The effects of temperature, concentrations of Fe2+ and hydrogen peroxide on the COD removal efficiency are investigated. The results show that the reaction orders of hydrogen peroxide and ferrous sulfate are 0.2108 and 22.852,respectively,the activation energy is 14616 KJ/mol,and the preexponential factor K is 18.349 under normal treatment temperature.COD removal efficiency and the reaction rate constants are significantly affected by the temperature as well as the concentrations of hydrogen peroxide and ferrous sulfate.Under normal temperature, the dynamic model of pulping midcourse effluent treatment for moderate concentration is asfollows: dCOD/d/=18.349 exp(-14616/RT)H2O20.2108FeSO422.852.
