Prey Dispersal under Pressure of Predators
A system of prey and predators is proposed that describes the prey dispersals between two patches with responses to predation pressures. It is found that this type of prey dispersal does not reduce the survival threshold of predators, whereas the random mobility of prey can increase or decrease the survival threshold of predators. Moreover, it is shown that the smaller response of prey dispersal to predation pressure is beneficial to predators, but does not affect the total size of prey population in two patches. However, the large migration response reduces the density of predator population in equilibrium.
