On the optimal control of invasive plant species with Logistic spread
Theoretical model involving both Logistic spread and control of the invasive plant, allowing for a finite time period is established. An objective functional is constructed and the optimal control strategy is obtained by Pontryagin maximum principle. Numerical simulations are given to show the influence of the spread ratio, carrying capacity, initial area of the invasive plants, the cost of control per unit area on the control measures.
