A delayed mathematical model for the dynamics of malaria with temporary immunity

In this paper, a delayed mathematical model for the dynamics of malaria disease is constructed and investigated. We get the sufficient condition for the existence and local stability of two equilibria, the disease-free equilibrium and endemic equilibrium. And the global stability of the disease-free equilibrium is also qualitatively proved. A threshold for the time delay is obtained. If the time delay is larger than the threshold then the endemic equilibrium is unstable, which means that endemic disease cannot exist. If the time delay is less than the threshold then the endemic equilibrium is locally stable, which means that endemic disease may exist. At last, we interpret our mathematical results.
