A mathematical model of hospital infections considering the effects of environmental contamination

摘要：

In this paper, a mathematical model is formulated to consider the role that the environmental contamination played in the hospital infection. We obtain an equivalent form of the basic reproduction number which is also a threshold governing the extinction or the uniform persistence of the disease. It can be divided into two expressions each of which represents a mode of transmission respectively. Numerical results indicate how to choose control measures according to the values of these two indices.
