Study on process of copper dross by vacuum distillation

This paper analysed the feasibility of processing copper dross by vacuum distillation in theory. And the volatile behaviours of Sb, Pb, Cu, As, and Ag in the copper dross, which were influnced by distillation temperature and the holding time, were investigated in this paper. The experimental results indicated that volatility of Cu, Ag, Pb was relatively consistent with the theoretical calculation. But volatility of Sb, As varied greatly from the theoretical calculation which may attribute to form stable nonvolatile compounds among Cu, Sb and As. On the condition of distillation temperature 1673K, holding time 2h, system pressure 15~25Pa, copper content in the residue can be increased to 81.41% which met the requirement of electrolysis process. So the electrolysis process can be carried out and yield cathode copper.
