Research and Simulation on an Autonomous Routing Algorithm for GEOLEO Satellite Networks

Combining LEO satellites advantage on transmitting real-time information with GEO satellites big computing ability, this paper proposes a Snap-based Autonomous Routing Algorithm for GEOJLEO satellite networks. The algorithm utilizes the connectivity rules of inter satellite link to partition network topology and compute the routing table. GEO satellites can recount routing table for failure region when some notes fail, and this makes the network autonomous. The simulation by OPNET shows that the algorithm has good performance on communication between gaps and long distance ?? reducing the packet loss rate and improving network survivability.
