From Enterprise Resource Planning to Digital Nervous System

摘要：

To identify the importance of global information technologies and their associated implementation considerations from the view of manufacturers and system designers through an industrial research with the collaborated company, three major areas have been investigated in the literature review including, enterprise resource planning (ERP), enterprise application integration, and digital nervous system (DNS). The discussion on ERP systems emphasis on their new features based on the state-of-the-art information technologies. Existing design methodologies are then described and their inadequacies are elaborated. The review on enterprise application integration illustrates the requirements in the development of global manufacturing information technology. Literatures on digital nervous system demonstrate the future technology to support the information infrastructure of enterprise.
