Reconfigurable Battery Management System for Electric Vehicle
Electric vehicle(EV) has become the trend of automobile technology and the design of battery management system(BMS) is one of the crucial techniques of EV. The BMS presented in this paper is based on PIC24HJ256JP610 industrial grade microcontroller. It takes full advantages of the microcontrollers double CAN communication modules and is then divided into two layers in function: the lower one completes data acquisition; the upper one finishes data processing, analyzing and controlling. A distinctive idea of reconfigurable design is introduced. The hardware framework and the communication data on CAN bus are also described in detail. The system has passed through the spot tests carried out by an EV manufacturer and the results have proved its validity.
