A Web-based Digital Music Ensembles System

摘要：

This paper presents an innovative Web-based digital music ensembles system, which enables users on the Internet to play music together. Two main problems in this system which are how to convert the audio file to the music score and how to decrease the network delay to increase the ensemble performance, are discussed. To solve these problems, the audiodecoding based technique of converting MIDI to the music score is proposed, and the architecture of multi-thread server is developed. Practical application shows that this system enables a group of participants to play the music collaboratively in the distributed environment with little network delay.
