Research of Detecting Equipment Based on Grating Encoder of the Bogie Wheelset Alignment Parameters for Railway Vehicles
The alignment parameters of wheelsets in horizontal plane, such as rim inside distance, wheelbase difference, and diagonal difference, are key parameters that influence the wheel-rail contact. The paper proposes detecting equipment for measuring alignment parameters in horizontal plane of wheelsets based on the method of wheel centers translation, which grating encoder as the main measuring instrument. The detecting equipment is able to accurately and efficiently measure rim inside distance, wheelbase difference, and diagonal difference of new bogie wheelsets. Measurement and control system analyze, calculate, save, print and query according to the grating encoder measurement values. The improvements of this equipment are simple structure, reasonable price, and without setting work station relative to domestic and foreign similar testing equipments. Besides, error analysis and accuracy verification of the detection equipment is discussed. Inspection report indicated that the device detection accuracy up to ± 0.05mm.
