A Multimedia Writing System and Its Effects
A Digital Picture-book Assisted Learning (DPAL) system to facilitate language learning activities has been devised. In addition, its innovative model, featured a model-within-a-model approach, offering instructors a good way to enhance learning has been described. This study also aims to investigate the effects on childrens writing achievement. A quasiexperimental design was employed and conducted by seventy-six fifth graders who followed the DPAL approach to create digital picture-books with their peers. The experimental results were rated favourably on English cognitive tests where improvement was significant with their writing abilities. As a result, teachers are recommended to frequently integrate the DPAL system into their language curriculum in order to cultivate students full language potential and allow them to participate actively in their English learning.
