Fingerprint-Spectrum Research of Traditional Chinese Medicine based on FPGA

A method for identification of traditional Chinese medicine is introduced detailedly. 3 algorithms are used to get the characteristic value of similarity degree between actual fingerprint-spectrum and standard fingerprint-spectrum. And the result of each algorithm would be input information for a 3-2-1 BPNN. The conclusion from BPNN will give the quality of the medicine. These functions are realized by FPGA. The essential bottom module in FPGA is described respectively. And the top module is come into being by the reasonable connection among the bottom modules. The analyzer based on FPGA can finish functions of signal sampling, data processing, driving LCD to display fingerprint-spectrum and conclusion, etc. By research of salvia miltiorrhiza with this analyzer, it shows high possibility that the identification of traditional Chinese medicine would be done at the locality of production, and the technology would be used to instruct the production of traditional Chinese medicine in future.
