Development of Surface Visibility Retrieval Algorithm Based on FY-3A/MERSI Data

Visibility is not only closely related to the aviation, marine, transport and military activities, but also a important key which affects flight safety seriously. So far the technology of aerosol retrieval and surface visibility retrieval achieved by EOS/MODIS was developed, but the domestic aerosol observation and surface visibility retrieval have not yet started because of underdeveloped satellite sensors, In view of FY-3A/MERSI sensor can effectively change this situation, this paper aims to achieve the aerosol retrieval and surface visibility retrieval by domestic MERS1 data, and give a advanced surface visibility retrieval algorithm. Studies show a better visibility results can be achieved based on mixed layer height than aerosol scale height.
