Correlation analysis of the biomass of the Subtropical forest vegetation, LANDSAT TM data And topographical data
This paper analyzed the correlations among the biomass of the subtropical forest vegetation, LANDSAT TM data and topographical data taking Shimian County of Chinas in Sichuan Province as an example. Firstly , the biomass for each forest subcompartment was calculated by using the field inventory data, and the biomass GIS database was established according to the forest map. Secondly, the derivative data were derived from the LANDSAT TM images by using principal component analysis, tasseled cap transform and vegetation index analysis and the ratio of bands. Thirdly, the data including LANDSAT TM data and its derivative data, the topographical data such as DEM, aspect and slope were referenced to the same projection and coordination of the biomass GIS database. Fourth, the correlation between the LANDSAT TM and its derived data, topographical data ,Canopy density and the biomass were analyzed. It was shown that the biomass of the tropical forest vegetation was most obviously correlated with TM1, TM2, TM3, TM4, TM5, TM7, DVI, NDVI, RVI, VI3, PVI, SARVI, TSAVI, BRIGHT, GREEN, WET, DEM and Canopy density at 0.01 confident level. The correlations arranged in descend respectively for DEM, TM1,canopy density, NDVI,TSAVI and RVI, which were respectively 0.263,-0.226,0.218,-0.205,-0.203, and -0.198.
