A Multi-tier Supplier Collaborative Project Scheduling Method Considering Limited Resources

For the different positions in complex product development, the partners in virtual enterprise alliance are often classified as multi-tier suppliers. Multi-tier supplier collaborative product management is the process of planning, scheduling and controlling of all activities under explicit time, resource, performance and scale restrictions. A detail modeling method considering resource limits in each supplier is presented after the discussion of the application scenario with its conceptual model in this paper. Using genetic algorithm, a complete solving method to find the best solutions of such problem has also been presented. The three technical advantages of this solving method include: changing the crossing and mutation operator settings, proper adding durations at random task to make the final result better, and adapting the population generating process to enhance computing speed.
