Design of GPS Monitor System for Excavator Based on LabVIEW and CAN Bus

Debugging the GPS remote management system function with excavator control system was time consuming, it has urgent demand to design CAN bus GPS data monitor system. Application the call library node in LabVIEW , the USB/CAN converter, which was originally employed to download program or online monitor parameters to PLC controller, was designed to be CAN bus data acquire equipment, LabVIEW driver of this converter was designed. Based on these drivers, CAN bus GPS monitor system was designed with LabVIEW software and the system was taken experiment in debugging the remote system. The result indicated that the USB/CAN converter driver for LabVIEW was correct , and the CAN bus GPS data monitor system based on LabVIEW was suitable to monitor the CAN data. The result provide a method to design third product LabVIEW driver, and also provide a new method to monitor the CAN bus data and debug the remote system for all construction machinery.
