Outliers Removed Method based on TerraSolid

Point clouds which received from LiDAR include numbers of outliers. Some of filter algorithms use the lowest point assuming to be the ground point, filter continue using it as the initial ground, and then bring the negative influence for filtering. So, we need remove outliers. This paper presents the analysis of histograms frequency combined with the neighboring points searching for removing outliers. The method analyzes the frequency of histograms that elevation values of airborne LiDAR points; then searches neighboring points of every point to remove outliers. The results of the experiments show the method can effectively remove outliers in original point clouds, especially for clustering high outliers, and retain the original surface features.
