A Reduced Turbo Multiuser Detector Based on MMSE Criterion
Turbo multiuser detection has been a hot research topic for years. Based on minimum mean square error (MMSE) criterion, this paper proposes a kind of reduced Turbo multiuser detection scheme for Turbo encoded DS-CDMA system. By using the standard Log maximum a posteriori (Log-MAP) algorithm to calculate external information and Log likelihood ratio (LLR) of information bits, and taking advantage of the partial outputs of MMSE detector, the proposed multiuser detector can achieve better system performance. It saves the procedures of computing the external information of parity bits using the revised Log-MAP algorithm, reduces the computation cost of channel decoder module, and decreases the number of decoding memorizer. Experiment results show the proposed multiuser detector can achieve better performance with less computation cost.
