Some DAEs Model and Numerical Simulation on the Impact of Baseball Bat
Based on the Euler-Bernoulli beam theory,we introduced some differential algebra equation systems (DAEs) model on the inelastic impact of baseball in which the base ball collision hit perpendicularly to an Euler-Bernoulli beam. Then we derive the amplitude of vibration on the handle expressed by the function on the location of the impact point. And obtain the sweet spot area from the DAEs model.By using numerical method we obtain that the sweet spot is essentially independent of the exit speed of the ball and the amplitude of bat vibration. The model is in excellent agreement with experimental data at low impact velocities.
