Based on an Improved Sobel Edge Detection Operator in The Application

摘要：

License plate location is the key technology of the automatic license plate recognition system.According to the analysis of traditional arithmetic of plate location,the algorithm of license plate location is proposed based on an improved Sobel edge detection operator.First the color license plate image was preprocessed with gray scaling,smoothing and gray stretching,and then an improved Sobel edge detection operator is implemented on the image.The interfered district is excluded by the feature of geometric.Simulation experiment show the method can carry out rapid and accurate locating plate and have a certain degree of theoretical and applied value.
