Research of Edge Detection Method for Medical Fundus Vascular Image

Considering medical retinal vascular image edge detection application requirement, at first, vector median filtering is used to retinal vascular image processing, and then vascular edge detection. And vessels edge detection effect of traditional edge detection operators and wavelet edge detection are compared by simulation. The results show that canny operator is optimal on edge connectivity and antinoise performance; kirsch operators description for vascular edge image is more clearly and nature; and the performance of wavelet modulus maxima edge detection method is better than other methods except the complexity of the calculation and low noise.Through the analysis,it is considered that each detection algorithm has superiority and inferiority respectively, which should be paid to reasonable selection and improvement aiming at applications.
