A UDP Transport Protocol in Data Center Communications

摘要：

Data center communications has the TCP incast problem. Most existing work addressing this problem is based on TCP. In this letter, we propose a UDPbased transport protocol to resolve this problem. Analytical and simulation results show that our protocol can improve the throughput greatly when the number of data servers reaches or go beyond a critical number. Since the critical number is in general very small in reality, our protocol is useful in most data center communications.
