Development of Temperature Measuring and Collecting System for Solidification Process of Heavy Section Ductile Iron

This paper presents design, construction and testing of a new and inexpensive sensor-based temperature measuring and collecting system used to solidification process of heavy section ductile iron, its principal characteristic is: real-time measuring, collecting and displaying of temperature value. The system is made of K-type thermocouple, 8-channel temperature modules of ADAM4018 and ADAM4520, the corresponding program and Mscomm provided by VB6.0. The system is simple, stable and reliable to be applied in study on solidification process of heavy section ductile iron.
