Spectral Decomposition of Matching Pursuit
Spectral decomposition as a new technology of seismic interpretation gets more and more application in reservoir prediction. The key of this technology is searching some method which can precisely describe time-frequency representation of seismic signal. The time-frequency resolution of short time fourier transform is restricted by the length of the window. Different window parameter has big impact on the result. Wavelet transform can give good timefrequency representation for its multi-resolution characteristics, but dicomposition concept of time and scale is difficult to understand. The method of matching pursuit with adaptive characteristic has a clear concept. Model test and practical application show that spectral decomposition based on matching pursuit has a better resolution and more suitable for complicated seismic signal.
