The Effect of Pause Time on the Performance of Mobile Ad-hoc Network Routing Protocols
Mobile Ad-hoc Networks (MANETs) have neither fixed routers nor fixed locations and their performance mainly depends on the routing mechanism and nature of node mobility. Due to mobility in Ad-hoc network, the topology of the network may change randomly. The mobility models represent the moving behavior of each mobile node (MNs) in the MANET that should be realistic. This paper considers performance of mobile ad-hoc network (MANET) routing protocol with respect to the effects of mobility model on the performance of DSR protocol for the purpose of finding the optimal settings. In this paper, we evaluate the performance of DSR protocol using Random Waypoint Mobility Model in terms of pause time, number of connections, and number of nodes.
