Research on Fault Detection and Diagnosis Method of the Tower Crane Based on DPCA

This paper adopted dynamic principal component analysis(DPCA), applied SPE(squared prediction error) statistic and Hotelling statistic to determine whether the system had fault or not and used contribution maps to distinguish sources of error. In order to suffice urgent needs that the tower crane can operate safely and produce efficiently, the operating condition of the tower crane was detected and diagnosed effectively and the fault was detected and sources of error was determined promptly.
