The Optimization Design of Node Deployment to Wireless Tunnel Monitoring Sensor Network Using Genetic Algorithm
Tunnel construction is an infrastructure with narrow space, severe environment, and high accident potential, where the sensor nodes are strategically deployed with chain-type topology along relatively long distances and the traditional schemes of wireless sensor network are not available. In this paper, after describing tunnel by two-dimensional grid model,a genetic algorithm with niche technology was used relevantly to improve the general deployment which could make the monitoring network better realtime communication and lower energy consumption. The experimental evaluation indicated that the real-time and the energy consumption of monitoring network under the optimal deployment were improved. Thus, wireless monitoring system can be commendably established to ensure safe excavation, which will improve the overall safety of tunnel construction.
