Computer Simulations of Rotor Spun Yarn Properties with Response Surface Methodology and ANFIS

There are great quantities of noils in China.Rotor spinning is the most prospecive new spinning technology.Adopting of rotor spinning technology to process noils will achieve considerable economic benefits. In this paper,wool/acrylic blended yarns were spun on a rotor spinning machine and the yarn properties were tested. The systematic methodology for modeling the yarn properties from the processing parameters was studied.Effects of rotor speed, opening roller speed and twist multiplier on the yarn properties were simulated with the response surface methodology and Adaptive Network-based Fuzzy Inference System (ANFIS).Performance of these two models was evaluated. The results reveal that ANFIS has better prediction accuracy, but the response surface methodology is superior in handling data distributions in terms of depicting the relationship between inputs and outputs.
