Treatment of Cr (VI) contaminated groundwater by PRB simulation with ash and iron
The simulating PRB was filled with iron and fly ash, the ratio of two materials was 1:1. The groundwater contaminated by Cr (VI) was conducted by dynamic simulating test. The experiment showed that the pH was changing in the flowing water treated with simulating PRB and the water volume changes with the processing of experiment, also showed the removal ratio of Cr (VI). The testing results show when the pH of flowing water is 7-8,the effect of treated water is well. And, with the experiment is going on, the water volume is steady in a time, the removal ratio of Cr (VI) has close relationship with pH in flowing water treated by simulating PRB. As a result of Statistical data, there are great relationships between three factors which are pH in flowing water treated by simulating PRB, water volume treated by simulating PRB and the removal ratio of Cr (VI). The experiment show that PRB technology can be designed on site in right place to treat the Cr(VI) contaminated groundwater as soon as the media of PRB can be changed in time, and control the pH - the ratio of the media.
