Optimization for Mix Design of High-performance Concrete Using Orthogonal Test
The paper presents a optimum approach to design concrete mixtures. It is based upon a set of tests relating composition and engineering properties of concrete use orthogonal method to identify the main influencing factors in mix ratio on compressive strength of concrete. Some of the raw materials of test are portland cement and fly ash. The effect factors are fly ash, water-cement ratio, water consumption, admixture . Every factor is at three levels. The array chosen was the L9(34) which has 9 rows corresponding to the number of tests. The results indicated that the effect of fly ash on concrete strength changes with time. The water cement ratio has important influence on both early and late CS. The optimal mix ratios for compressive strength of both 7 days and 28 days were achieved. This approach is illustrated through the design of a special high-performance concrete for road application.
