Stability Analysis of MWMS in Downlink SDMA Systems
The stability and delay problems of SDMA (spatial division multiple access) systems with ZFBF (zero-forcing beam-forming) were investigated. It was shown that the MWMS (maximum weighted matching scheduling) is a throughput optimal policy where resources are allocated to maximize a queue-length-weighted sum of the rates. The performances of average delay average queue length and average throughput were evaluated among the queue-aware-only scheduling, the channel-aware-only scheduling, the loosely joint channel-aware and queue-aware scheduling and the optimal MWMS. Simulation results showed that the proposed algorithms can take full advantage of the multi-user diversity gain and provide average delay (or throughput) and fairness improvement compared with the channel-aware-only and queue-aware-only schemes.
