Effects of L-lysine Feeding on ε-Poly-L-lysine Fermentation by Streptomyces diastatochromogenes CGMCC 3145

The effects of L-lysine feeding on ε-poly-L-lysine fermentation by Streptomyces diastatochromogenes CGMCC 3145 was evaluated in this study. It was suggested that the metabolic flow of the L-lysine molecule should be directly linked to the biosynthesis of the secondary metabolite ε-PL. Therefore, a Llysine feeding strategy aimed at increasing the s-PL production was carried out The results showed that when feeding 15 g/L Llysine, the yeild of ε-PL was increased by 38.9% compared with the control. In addition, the aspartokinase activity was inhibited by much higher L-lysine,but there was little effect on e-poly-L-lysine synthase activity.
