Innovation,Exports and Technology-Imports:Evidence from Chinese High-Tech industries

This paper examines how innovation and exports at the firm-level give impact on their technology imports,in the context of China.Both Tobit and logistic regression models were used to examine their relationships,using a sample data of 1,111 high-tech firms in Zhejiang province in China over a three-year period.Results suggest that innovation is significantly positively associated with its technology imports,while exports have no impact,with non high-tech product exports appearing to have a negative impact.
