Knowledge Management Evaluation for Product Development Process in Brazilian SMEs
Knowledge management in product development process (PDP) is required to enable companies to prospect and develop new markets and become more competitive.The main goal of this research is to identify and to compare the practices of knowledge management (dimensions) in the product development process and to assess whether there are organizational efforts to manage,to retain and to create new knowledge.It is concluded that knowledge management is fundamental for companies competitiveness because it provides a foundation to keep and generate knowledge and,thereby,to get innovation.Besides that,it was noticed that there are organizational efforts to manage the knowledge involved in product development process.However,there are many necessary actions and strategies to be develop by the companies to change individual minds and to create a culture to share tacit knowledge.For future search,we suggest to increase the sample,including more companies in different segments.
