Chaotic Dynamic Study of Folder-type Rock Beam and Application to Rock Burst Diagnosis

This paper used chaotic dynamics to study the condition of roof rock burst. The mechanical model of folder-type rock beam is established to analyze the roof with horizontal tectonic load and disturbance. The constitutive law of rock with the strainsoftening characteristics is described by the triple nonlinear elastic model. The mechanical condition of dynamic instability critical state and the disturbance criterion for the instability are determined by Melnikov method. On this basis, this paper puts forward the quantitative instability criterion for the roof with burst hazard before the first weighting, and has a discussion of the influence of initial elastic modulus, modulus representing material softening and horizontal tectonic load for the roof rock burst hazard. The folder-type roof rock burst incidence also has the characteristics of chaotic system, namely randomness and sensitivity to initial conditions. The instability criterion is influenced distinctly by horizontal tectonic load.
