Analysis of Activity Characteristics of Mining-induced Slope and Key Area of Roof Controlling under Bedrock Gully Slope in Shallow Coal Seam

The compositions and the structure characteristics of bedrock gully slope in the shallow coal seam in the gully development area are analyzed based on the specific geological conditions of Yitai coalfield. The activity characteristics of mining-induced slope and its impact on mining are studied detailedly under different advance directions and different slope angles by using the methods of similar material simulation and numerical simulation. The results show that the mining-induced slope body slips along the slope and trends to deflect to the goaf side wholly in gully-wards mining; while the slope body rotates in reversed direction and forms a multilateral block articulated structure which is instable because of easy backfall in gully-away mining. In the same geological conditions, the larger the slope angle is, the higher the frequency of the multilateral block dumping occurred in mining landside will be. Through the analysis of face pressure behaviors from the view of angles of overburden movement and damage, it is concluded that the ratio of the height between fault and mining ranges from 10 to 12 during the shallow coal seam mining in gully-growth-wide area. According to the conclusion, the key of roof control is located at the lower region in which the height of mining-induced slope is less than the fault height. The results can provide basis for roof control in mines with similar conditions.
