The Analysis of Optimum Velocity for Dust Prevention and Numerical Simula- tion in Fully-Mechanized Coal Faces
The dust occurs in coal cutting and ventilation is helpful to mining prevent its concentration if the velocity is proper. It should blow out the floating dust without influencing the fallen one. A mathematical model of dust movement is derived from the gas-solid two-phase flow theory. According to the characteristics of the fully-mechanized coal face and survey data, for the two dust sources with different inlet velocity, numerical simulation of the dust movement rule is made with CFD software Fluent. The result shows that the optimum velocity is not more than 3 m.s-1.
