Experiment on Deformation Rule of Tailing Soil under Seepage in Old Tailing Pond of Lancang Lead Deposit

At present, the special deformation characters of tailing soil in old tailing pond area of Lancang lead deposit is difficulty in the foundation for engineering construction in a large scale. The deformation mechanism of the tailing soil under seepage and the seepage rule in the tailing soil impacted under deformation condition are still challenging problems in soil mechanics field. The main problem is that the deformation rule in tailing soil is very complex and the deformation inside cant be effectively observed directly. Also the deformation mechanism caused by seepage has been less studied in existing achievements. In this paper, the tester has been designed and the seepage pressure and tailing soil deformation has been monitored and much data has been obtained. Based on the data, the deformation rule under seepage have been discovered initially and the model of it has been constructed. The model of the deformation of tailing soil under seepage will be a good theoretical basis for the engineering construction on tailing soil in old tailing pond area of Lancang lead deposit.
