Optimal Design and Finite Element Analysis of Few-leaf-spring

The leaf spring is the flexible component of dependent suspension, which has advantages of simple structure, convenient maintenance, low cost, and can be used to locate the axle. The traditional multileaf spring has various defects. The few-leaf-spring has been one of main development trend of leaf springs because of its excellent characteristics. In this paper, a few-leaf-spring with variable thickness is optimally designed through MATLAB. Then, the stiffness and stress distribution of the optimized result will be verified by three steps: 1) establish 3D model through optimized parameters; 2) FEA of the model through ANSYS; 3) verify the feasibility of the optimization.
