Semi-analytic Approach for the Nonlinear Vibration Analysis of Beams
A new semi-analytic perturbation differential quadrature method was presented for geometrically nonlinear vibration analysis for Euler-Bernoulli beams. The non-linear governing equation were transformed into a linear differential equations system through the using of the Linstedt-Poincare perturbation method, which were then solved by using the differential quadrature approximation in the space domain and an analytic series in the time domain. The present method is validated against the existing perturbation solutions in several comparison examples for simply supported beams. The numerical example shows that the proposed method possesses excellent convergence and accuracy.
