A New Control Strategy of Doubly-fed Induction Machine for Hybrid Electric Vehicle
In this paper, a new electrical drive model of Hybrid Electric Vehicles (HEV) of Doubly-Fed Induction Machine (DFIM) wheel drive is provided; two DFIMs are used in this new drive model to constitute the doubly-fed electrical drive system. The DFIM can recover slip power, which is the best advantage of it The power from inverters is supplied to stator and rotor of each DFIM. In such a case, stator and rotor are separately controlled by direct torque control (DTC), or both of them is simultaneously controlled. This paper focuses on the latter, when a vehicle makes a turn, the inner wheel will rotate slower than the outer one. Then, slip power will flow from the slower rotating motor rotor to the faster rotating motor rotor. Vehicles in traveling straight the inner and outer rotors will recover slip power to batteries. Thus the copper loss will be reduced to the minimum.
