Research on Passenger Flow Model Based on Individual Behavior in Rail Transit System

The Cellular Automata (CA) model is applied in passenger simulation analysis of a metro station. It has been successfully applied in traffic flow simulation, because of its reliabilty. Passenger flow is a kind of traffic flow, but it has its unique characteristics. Further research is needed to improve the accuracy of passenger flow simulation using CA model. To make the simulation more veritably and reduce computational complexity, the algorithm is optimized with the help of refining the cell, determining the passenger walking speed dynamically, and building passenger move model based on the probability in this paper. The improved model is applied to the simulation and analysis of Nanjing Xin-jie-kou Metro Station, the results show that the island platform layout is more conducive to passenger movement and emergency evacuation, which can provide some basis to the export design of metro stations.
