Effects of Tire Flexible Carcass Structure Parameters on Non-steady State Cornering Properties
Empirical tire models provide a reasonably good representation of experimental data for tire lateral force and aligning moment properties. However, empirical models would become quite complicated while increasing input dimensions without theoretical support. This paper deals with a theoretical model taking flexible carcass lateral deformation characteristics into account. Three tire carcass structure parameters are presented to describe flexible carcass deformation characteristics during tire rolling, and based on these parameters tire nonsteady state cornering behaviors are investigated.
