Performance of the BEM solution in modal radiation efficiency of arbitrary closed structure
The amplitude and radiation efficiency of vibration mode should be considered synchronously for noise control in lower frequency band. To analysis the structural modal radiation efficiency of arbitrary closed structure with arbitrary boundary condition expediently, a numerical method based on BEM is presented. The arithmetic indicates that the contribution to sound radiation of a certain mode can be weakened only by reducing the amplitude of modal response or eliminating the mode in the process of structure-acoustics design, and besides, the calculation of the simple supported and uniformly ring-stiffened circular cylindrical shell shows that the structural modal radiation efficiency are not influenced by the variety in geometry parameters and spacing of the rings with the same material properties, but are increased by increasing the aspect ratio of the length to radius of circular cylindrical shell.
