Study on Homing Guidance Systems Based on Different Source Errors
To study the effect of heading error, angular noise and target glint on precision of missiles guidance, the PN, VP and BP guidance system models were established and base on the method of adjoints and non-dimensional method, the adjoint models of the three guidance systems were obtained and the expression of non-dimensional miss distance was deduced. It is concluded that the induced miss distance has a closely correlation with navigation constant N, system damping ratio and bandwidth while a low system damping ratio and bandwidth has bad influence on guidance precision. The miss distance does not decrease to zero but increase to a constant value with the increasing flight time of the engagement when angular noise and target glint is introduced. The miss distance of VP and BP guidance systems is lower than that of PN guidance system when only angular noise and target glint is introduced in the systems.
